Este Centro de Pensamiento es administrado por la Facultad de Minas, sede Medellín, de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Esta iniciativa apuesta por la construcción de conocimiento y la divulgación de ideas objetivas en pro de la minería del país. Este pretende enriquecer las políticas públicas y la minería sostenible con desarrollo comunitario. Por lo tanto, cuenta con el apoyo de profesionales de distintas ramas que pueden dar soporte a las mesas de trabajo y brindar un enfoque transversal en el debate relacionado con la economía colombiana. Así, dar a comprender las relaciones entre minería, comunidades y ecosistemas.

CREER’s mission is to investigate and promote the protection, respect and remedy of human rights and sustainable development within the framework of business activities, as well as the transformation of conflicts from a human rights perspective, through dialogue and consensus building. In line with the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB), CREER has proposed promoting a comprehensive agenda that connects governments, communities, companies and civil society organizations around:

-Conflict transformation from the facilitation of dialogues and the construction of consensus.
-Collective construction of knowledge.
-Dialogue spaces based on trust.
-Strengthening of local capacities for dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
-Promotion of more effective Public Policies for the protection, respect and remedy of Human Rights in environments of business activity.
-Dissemination of good practices in Human Rights for public and private business actors.

Transparency for Colombia

Corporación Transparencia por Colombia is the national chapter of Transparency International. It was born in 1998 as a response of the Colombian civil society to a complex political scenario, due to the incidence of corruption in public institutions and the weakening of democracy. Since then, he has led civil society in the fight against corruption and for transparency, in the public and private spheres, to promote active citizenship, strengthen institutions and consolidate our democracy. From the programmatic line of Initiatives with Civil Society, in which we work on transparency issues in Extractive Industries, we encourage more and more informed and active citizens who, through social control, have an impact on the protection of the public sector and the social sanction of corruption.
